Welcome to our mini cat gallery. This page gives you an idea of some of the many cats that are or have been available for homing here at Bleakholt. Any of the animals shown here may have already found their new home. But do not worry, we always have plenty of new faces at the Sanctuary so please come and have a look round to see who catches your eye. Once you have chosen your new friend, we make a home visit. In particular, our policy is not to home a cat in any household that has a child under the age of 5 or that is on or near a main road or railway line. All our home visits are done on a voluntary basis which means there is a geographical limit to where our home visitors can travel. If you live too far away do consider sponsorship as an alternative way to help. Subject to a satisfactory home visit, arrangements can be made to collect your pet, when a minimum donation of £60 (£80 for a pedigree cat) must be made to the Sanctuary. If you can afford more then this would be greatly appreciated and the extra may be able to be treated as a Gift Aid donation in which case we can increase that additional donation by 28%.

All our cats are vaccinated, wormed and de-flead. The female cats are spayed and the male cats castrated. Also, all our cats are microchipped. Our pets therefore represent superb value. Please remember that it will take time for any cat to settle in to a new home and new routines. Please be patient and if you have any difficulties you are welcome to ring Bleakholt for advice.

Male £25
Female £35

Worming

£7.50

£15

Full Health Check

If this determines that there is no medical treatment necessary the cost is:-

£18

Veterinary Treatment

Most of the cats that arrive at Bleakholt need veterinary treatment. The type and amount of work varies. The average is:-

From £30
to £400

Food and Accommodation

The infrastructure costs are spread over all our animals but are considerable.

Approx £40 per week

From this you can see that our costs are enormous. We do not sell our animals and the donation is not expected to cover our expenses but is a contribution towards these costs.

For example, as a conservative estimate, an adult female cat that only needed minimal treatment and stayed with us only 3 weeks would cost us
a minimum of £250.50
