COVID UPDATE 14 JULY – We are still closed to all visitors at the Sanctuary other than for pre-arranged adoption appointments (see below). Whilst we are looking forward to welcoming visitors back, there are a large number of changes we have to make to the Sanctuary in order to be able to re-open safely. We have to be compliant with government guidance which involves implementing track and trace. This will include an online booking system so we can ensure everyone who comes to visit the Sanctuary is doing so safely and we are protecting our staff.
Whilst we always welcome visitors, we are first and foremost, a rehoming centre and we have had to make many changes over the weeks to the way we work due to COVID. As we are a small Sanctuary trying to implement the same changes as large visitor centres, it will take us a little longer to be ready. We will of course update on our website and on our social media when we have everything in place.
We look forward to seeing you all soon and thank you to everyone for your continued support, it really has kept us going!

Nestled on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Irwell valley, Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary is a charity committed to caring for dogs, cats, equine and farm animals and small pets.
Our aim is to find happy, loving homes for our dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals and those that cannot be re-homed will spend the rest of their days in our care along with our equine and farm animals.

Stables & Farm
Bleakholt is not just a Sanctuary for animals that can be re-homed. We also provide a loving and safe environment for the retirement of a large number of Equine and Farm animals. These two groups are a very important part of what we do here and the animals will spend the rest of their lives in our care.
