THIS IS THE BEST STORY!
Bleakholt staff were part of an amazing reunion this morning!
Bleakholt Sanctuary Manager Karen Weed and Sallie Conroy, Rehoming Supervisor for Dogs, were at the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes Conference in Telford, along with other charities.
A cat wandered up to the group and sat on the knee of the lady from the Cats Protection League.
People said it was a stray which had been hanging around and so Bleakholt’s Sallie Conroy got a scanner and working with Cats Protection League, Avid Petrac and other organisations, found out the details of the cat from its microchip.
Sammy the cat, aged 6, had been missing for two months.
They then rang his owner Sian Powell who was an eight-minute drive away and she was absolutely over the moon when she dashed over to collect him as she thought Sammy was gone forever.
“That cat knew the place to get help,” said Karen. “It was so emotional watching the reunion. We were all in tears!”
We just LOVE a happy ending!
