Tucked away in the heart of Lancashire, Farm Cottage Boarding isn’t just a dog hotel. It’s a labour of love that began right here at Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary. Founded by our incredible adopters who gave a Bleakholt rescue dog their forever home, this local business has grown into a sanctuary of its own – one that continues to give back to the animals who need it most.

From the very start, their passion for rescue dogs has shaped everything they do. Their dedication to canine comfort and welfare shines through in every service they offer, from luxury dog hotel stays and VIP suites, to day care, ultrasonic teeth cleaning, and even a wedding chaperone service (because no special day is complete without your four-legged friend by your side!).

We can say first-hand that their facilities are top-tier, with: 24-hour onsite care, large glass-fronted rooms, sensory gardens, secure play areas, and even Ring Cameras in every room for complete peace of mind. It’s no wonder their guests leave feeling pampered, rested, and above all? Loved.

But what makes Farm Cottage Boarding truly special is their unwavering commitment to giving back to Bleakholt. Over the years, they’ve become one of our most active and creative supporters who are constantly finding new ways to raise funds and awareness for animals in need.

In November 2024, they raised a whopping £550 through their “Sponsor A Room” fundraiser in their dog hotel. For almost two years, they’ve been running Charity Dog Baths for £10, with all proceeds coming directly to Bleakholt. They’ve also taken part in our annual Christmas Shoebox Campaign, collected countless raffle and tombola prizes, and donated an incredible number of toys, food, leads, and harnesses for our sanctuary dogs.

In May 2025, they hosted their own Charity Fun Dog Show, complete with rosettes, fun classes, raffles, tombolas, and refreshments all in aid of Bleakholt. The event was a huge success, not only raising vital funds but also celebrating the joy of dogs and the strong community that surrounds them.

They didn’t stop there. As competitors in our 2025 Bleakholt Business Battle, Farm Cottage Boarding raised an amazing £2,100 for our animals, securing their place as one of the most dedicated and passionate local businesses in our Bleakholt family. They even hiked Winter Hill at sunrise to raise additional funds, and generously sponsored our first-ever Bleakholt Rescue Rangers Children’s Activity Book, helping to inspire the next generation of animal lovers.

Everything they do from running their sensory garden and all-weather play areas, to their inventive “Bark & Ride” airport drop-off service, is done with the same care, integrity, and love that first inspired them to adopt from us. It’s a place built by dog lovers, for dog lovers, where every guest is treated like family.
