A New Project Celebrating Past & Present Rescue Dogs That Anyone Can Get Involved With!
Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary is delighted to be part of a brand new project shining a light on the stories that truly matter: the journeys of rescue dogs, whether that be past, present, or future.
Created by Hellen from Wags Woofs Pet Photography, the ‘Paws & Positivity: The Hopeful Hounds Project’ is a heartfelt project designed to challenge the stigma that still surrounds rescue dogs and certain breeds. As Hellen explains: “I think rescue is a story that needs to be told, as there’s too much stigma in regards to rescue dogs and certain breeds”. This project will do exactly that by sharing powerful, real-life stories of dogs who, through no fault of their own, have faced difficult starts in life, but have gone on to find love, safety and happiness in their forever homes.
Through a combination of professional photography and personal storytelling, the project will capture:
- The lives dogs lived before being rescued
- Their journey into a loving home
- How they’ve adapted and thrived with their new families
Alongside these success stories, the project will also shine a spotlight on some of Bleakholt’s longer-staying dogs…..those still waiting patiently for their second chance. It truly is a powerful way to show both the reality and the hope within rescue.

What Participants Receive
Those selected to take part will receive:
- A feature in the published Paws & Positivity book
- A one-hour on-location photoshoot with Hellen (worth £100)
- Two fully edited images of your choice
- £50 credit towards additional images or products
- Early access to purchase the book at a discounted rate
Supporting Bleakholt Animals
We are incredibly grateful to Hellen for choosing to support Bleakholt through this project. A portion of book sales, along with retainer fees from participants, will be donated to the Sanctuary which will help us to continue to care for animals who have nowhere else to turn.
