The Digs for Dogs team were very busy over the “Royal Wedding Weekend” raising more than £1,300 to date for Bleakholt.
Caron Mcnulty, who owns a ‘Digs for Dogs’ dog walking business in Bury, organised a 5-mile sponsored walk with four legged friends around Entwistle Reservoir which took place on the Royal Wedding day.
Bleakholt volunteers joined in and one took along a very special guest who was in need of a home who just happened to be called – Megan! Very fitting for the special day and like her namesake, Megan had a great day out!
Debbie Pomfret, the founder of ‘Digs for Dogs’ said:
“I’m not sure who had the most fun, us or the dogs! We were also accompanied by the Chairlady from Bleakholt, Vicki Appleton with her rescue dog, Rex and other supporters of Bleakholt. What really made our day is that Megan (not the royal one!) found a forever home which was just the icing on the cake!”
We just LOVE happy endings!
The following day, Mick Pearson who also operates a ‘Digs for Dogs’ dog walking franchise in Bury completed the half marathon at the Great Manchester Run in aid of Bleakholt, finishing in just over 2 hours. Congratulations to Mick and many thanks.
As some of you will know, we are looking to raise funds to build our new kennel blocks and improve facilities and the Team at ‘Digs for Dogs’ were keen to support this with their fundraising event. We would like to send a massive thank you to them and to everyone who supported them and for the amazing, generous donations to our Sanctuary.
