Open Day Sunday 25 November 2018

Open Day – £8,171

Santa’s Workshop Day – £3,224

Thank you to everyone for your support – you are all amazing!

These events are always really popular and there is so much to see and do that it’s a brilliant day out for the whole family. Our Open Days are a major event in the Bleakholt calendar. It’s a special day for us as we attempt to raise much needed funding to enable us to take care of all our animals. These events are even more important to us now than ever before and we never cease to be amazed by the support shown. If you’ve never been before then you are in for a treat!

The Open Days run from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is a donation of only £2 per Adult and children are free. Please come along and share the fun with us.

We are proud to welcome our President, Gemma Atkinson who will be joining us on the day to open our brand new Kennel block!

The official opening will take place at 1 p.m. Please do come along and join in the celebration.

The Owls Trust

Regular visitors to our Open Days are The Owls Trust, who bring along some of their rescue Owls. This is such a popular attraction as it gives you a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with these magnificent birds. Definitely not to be missed!

Activities for the Children

There are always plenty of things going on for the children, which could be anything from kiddies rides to a stilt walker or balloon modeller! We also usually have games and craft activities.

Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos

Always popular choices for the kids – but there’s nothing stopping you joining in!

Sand Art

Picture making with coloured sand – this is great fun (possibly for big kids as well!)

Stilt Walker

Kids love this and are always fascinated by his antics!

Bottle Tombola

Try your luck while helping our animals – there’s lots of bottle prizes!

Good Food

There’s always plenty to choose from for when you get hungry. There’s our on-site Café with delicious homemade food, cold snacks, cakes and drinks and a Hot Dog stand. We also usually have extra hot treats such as our Burger Bar.

Out and about

There are also plenty of stalls, anything from pot plants to crafts and so much more!

Our Shop

Why not pay a visit to our shop which has all your pet needs as well as a huge selection of gifts, souvenirs, toys, toiletries and so much more – so, go on, treat yourself! An ideal place to shop for your Christmas gifts too!

Our Animals

Of course the real stars of our show are always our wonderful residents who make it all worthwhile, so have a wander around our huge site and say hello. Our dedicated staff are always pleased to chat to you.

How you can help

If you think you can help us to make our Open Day a success and would like to donate a little of your time to support us by running a stall or game, or helping in the Cafe, please call in at the Sanctuary, telephone us on 01706 822577 or drop us an email at:

If you would like to have a stall, or wish to make any enquiry about joining in with an activity etc. please use the email address above.

As always, we couldn’t do it without you, so thank you for all your support

Special Christmas Event!

Santa’s Workshop – Sunday 2 December 2018

We will be joined by a very special guest – Santa himself.  Come along and visit him in his grotto and tell him your Christmas Wish List.

The (real) Reindeer that will bring Santa to us will also be around during the afternoon, grazing happily whilst they wait for Santa.

It’s a fantastic afternoon for the kids!
