UPDATE – We raised an amazing £8,430 at the Open Day!
Massive thank you to everyone who visited to support us. It was a fabulous day and it’s all down to YOU lot out there! There is also the little matter of the whopping grant of £100,000 from our friends at Support Adoption For Pets and presented to us on the day, which is the best icing on the cake EVER!
Open Day on Sunday 30 September
These events are always really popular and there is so much to see and do that it’s a brilliant day out for the whole family. Our Open Days are a major event in the Bleakholt calendar. It’s a special day for us as we attempt to raise much needed funding to enable us to take care of all our animals. These events are even more important to us now than ever before as we battle to raise funding for the Dog Centre Project. We never cease to be amazed by the support shown. If you’ve never been before then you are in for a treat!
The Open Days run from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is a donation of only £2 per Adult and children are free! Please come along and share the fun with us.
Especially for the Children
There will be plenty of things going on for the children, including games and craft activities.
The Owls Trust
Regular visitors to our Open Days are The Owls Trust, who bring along some of their rescue Owls. This is such a popular attraction as it gives you a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with these magnificent birds. Definitely not to be missed!
Equine ‘Jumble Sale’
Don’t miss out on our fabulous sale of things horsey and grab a bargain! All the goods have been donated by our wonderful supporters and all proceeds go to our animals.
Attention owners of ‘small furries’
We will be holding a sale of small animal goods and housing. If anyone needs equipment for rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, or rats, look out for our stall and grab yourself a bargain! All proceeds go to our animals.
Our Open Days wouldn’t be complete without our resident DJ Andy. We cannot thank him enough for giving us his time on our special days.
There’s always plenty to choose from for when you get hungry. There’s our on-site Café with delicious homemade food, cold snacks, cakes and drinks and also a Hot Dog stand. We usually have an extra selection of hot food available too, so just follow your nose!
Out and about
There are also plenty of games and stalls, anything from pot plants to crafts and so much more!
Why not pay a visit to our shop which has all your pet needs as well as a huge selection of gifts, souvenirs, toys, toiletries and so much more – so, go on, treat yourself!
Of course the real stars of our show are always our wonderful residents who make it all worthwhile, so have a wander around our huge site and say hello. Our dedicated staff are always pleased to chat to you.
