Shiva (who often responds more to Floof) is a shy lady who was brought to Bleakholt as her owners could no longer cope with her ongoing medical needs. She has suffered with urinary problems on and off for a few years – she has recently had an operation to remove stones from her bladder and her owners were told that they could return. Shia is on a special urinary diet to help reduce any symptoms. Since being with us, she has shown no signs of any urinary symptoms. It all became too much for the owners to deal with and they had to make the upsetting decision to bring her to us. Shiva is a pampered princess – she likes fuss from time to time, but also enjoys some peace and quiet by herself – she will let you know which she is feeling! We feel a quiet home with no young children or other pets would be ideal for her to try and reduce any possible stress triggers. She has been kept as a house cat previously and we feel it would be best for this to continue in her future, forever home.

Puma came to Bleakholt as her owner had too many cats and was not giving her the care she needed. Described as a friendly, gentle girl, Puma is understandably wary of her new surroundings but is showing us she does like some attention once some trust is built. We feel she would suit a family home with children aged 8 years and over who understand her slight nervousness but who can also provide plenty of love to show Puma she’s still in her kitten era! Puma may benefit from a feline friend but do not know her reaction towards dogs. Puma will require outdoor access.

Churchil came to us after living as a stray for quite some time, believed to have been abandoned by his owners. As you can see from the photo, he has lived a hard life and can see he has spent some time defending himself on the streets. His founder described him as a loving gentleman once he trusts you, but is not overly fond on being handled. We will learn more about Churchill whilst with us. He seems to not like other cats and due to his timid nature we feel a home where is he the only be would be most suitable. He may be okay with cat-savvy children. Churchill will require outdoor access. Churchill does have mild cataracts in his left eye, however this does not cause him any issues.

Leo’s owner brought him into us due to allergies in the home. He is a regal gentleman who’s adventurous days are behind him. He is a quiet cat who enjoys peace and long naps. Leo used to spend a lot of his time outside exploring, however we have been told that he has taken to sleeping the day away in a warm, comfy bed instead. Due to this, we are wanting to rehome Leo with the option of venturing outside if he chooses to. Leo is a timid lad, he needs a quiet, understanding home where he can be given the time and patience to come out of his shell when he is ready. For now, we get the impression he’d love a home where he can get some fuss if he fancies it but likely just happy to spend the day snoozing in a warm bed. A home with no young children but potentially a compatible feline friend will be ideal for him. Our vet has said that Leo does have a bit of gingivitis, a mostly dry diet should help with this. Leo does also require regular brushing.
