Project Description
Major is an Old English game type cockerel who needs a home. He came to us after being found in Salford, it was close to a park so we assume someone had abandoned him there. He looks in good health and condition and appears to be relatively young. He’s a little timid of people, which is understandable given the circumstances, but has shown no signs of aggression. We would like to re-home him to live with some hens, so he would suit an experienced owner who is fine with integrating him into an existing flock. He will need secure accommodation with protection from predators including cats. We are re-homing him as a pet only and not for commercial purposes, if you are interested in giving Major a home please complete the on-line form and we will get back to you, by email, A.S.A.P. Potential adopters are welcome to visit to meet him, we are open Thu. Fri, Sat and Sunday each week 11am till 4pm, outside these times please contact us on farm@bleakholt.org to arrange a meeting. Please note it is now compulsory to register as a poultry keeper with DEFRA when keeping chickens, this is free and only takes a few minutes.
