This handsome boy is Buddy, a one- and a half year Brindle Lurcher.
Buddy came in to Bleakholt via another organisation because he was an unclaimed stray, therefore we have no history of his life prior to coming in to rescue.
He is big, strong and energetic but can be calm on his walks. In the right environment, he will thrive and be your best “buddy”.

He is a friendly boy with everyone he meets and is looking for a home full of adventures and one where he won’t be left for long periods of time.

Buddy will need a confident handler because of his size and strength. Being a young dog, he will push the boundaries and can get overly excited. He needs an owner who can handle this behaviour.

In the right home he would make a great companion for a single person, a couple or a family with older teenagers who are used to larger boisterous dogs.

He walks well on a lead and harness. He can pull at first but soon settles and is ok around most dogs although he can get excited at times.

This sweet boy is Sam, he is a 9 year old Whippet. Sam came in to Bleakholt because his owner is ill and they can no longer care for him. He is a gentle, sensitive boy who likes meeting new people. He enjoys being out and about and walks beautifully on a lead/harness. Sam has been fine around other dogs while on walks but can be vocal at times especially if he is unsure of them. Sam would love a home where he isn’t going to be left for long periods of time, he enjoys the company of humans. He would make a wonderful companion for a single person, a couple or a family with older children 12+ who are used to dogs.

Reggie is an extremely handsome 5 year old German Shepard.
Reggie loves attention and is always please to see you. So far he is clean in his kennel and waits till he’s out on a walk or in the garden to toilet. He’s a big cuddle monster at almost 40 kg so no light weight.
Reggie will need a home with older teenagers 16 + just due to his size and we have no real back ground on him? He is ok to walk…. not to strong, but does like to feel you on the end of the lead! He is reactive to other dogs, but not in an aggressive way and easy to keep a hold of if you do pump into other dogs on your walks considering his size. I would say he’s more vocal than anything. He is at this moment in time destructive with the toys in his kennel and his bed. We believe this is probably due to the fact that he has never had these things before and literally will take the squeaker out of every toy he has and has a jolly good time doing this. Once he has done that he then will have a nibble at his bed. We do not believe he has lived in a home for some time if at all so chewing things in the home is something you would need to be prepared for. A home where someone is home most of the day would be good for nipping this behaviour in the bud.

Reggie is very strong when he wants to be so his new people would need to be physically strong. He is not food orientated so training would be difficult as it will be purely down to determination and repetition with this boy. He is super intelligent though so a very quick learner.

This is Tucker, a 6 and a half year old Blue bull lurcher. Tucker came in to Bleakholt from another organisation as an unclaimed stray therefore we have no history of his life prior coming in to rescue. He is a friendly boy with everyone he meets albeit quite bouncy at times, so would need a confident handler. He enjoys going out on walks and playing in our exercise area but can get giddy and excitable. He walks well on lead and harness and has been ok with other friendly dogs whilst on walks, but due to limited background we feel a pet free, adult only home, with large breed experience would suit his needs best. With time and patience Tucker would make a great companion to a single person, a couple or a family of adults.
