This big beautiful fella is Elux. He is in need of a calm and loving home where he can retire and live out the rest of his days being pampered like the true prince he is! Elux has a grade 6 heart murmur which he takes daily medication to help manage any symptoms of. Before being put on the medication, the vets decided it would have been too risky to put him under to neuter him, so we decided it would be nicer to put him into a trusted, loving foster home not knowing exactly how long he had left. He was treated like royalty in the foster home, being pampered and groomed and even going for daily walks on a harness and lead! After a lovely few months in the home, Elux began spraying and it just became too much for them to cope with, so he had to come back. After a long discussion with the vet, we came to the agreement that it would be best for them to go through with doing the operation rather than leaving him to live at Bleakholt for the rest of his life. He made it through with flying colours and has made a full recovery! Despite now being neutered, there is the possibility that Elux will continue to spray in the future because he was castrated so late in life, we haven’t seen any evidence that he has been doing this here, but it is something that is something his new owners will need to keep in mind. His new owners will also need to be confident with ensuring he continues getting his medications daily (he eats them off his food very well!) His heart condition does mean he will have to be kept as a house cat in his new home, but if his new owners would be willing go build a little catio for this beautiful boy then he certainly would not complain as he loves watching the outside world pass by!
