Welcome To Bleakholt

Nestled on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Irwell valley Bleakholt animal sanctuary is a charity committed to caring for dogs, cats, farm animals and small pets.

No animal at the sanctuary is ever put to sleep except on veterinary advice.

Our aim is to find happy loving homes for many of our dogs, cats, rabbits and small mammals, those that cannot be re homed will spend the rest of their days in our care along with our equine and farm animals.

On a cold winter's day the 'Bleak' in Bleakholt really means something! However our staff and volunteers are relentless in their dedication to care for our animals, none of this would be possible without your support.

We hope you will come and visit us as often as you can.

New website developments

This website has been less than we would have liked it to be over the last two months for reasons beyond our control. We are now very happy to announce our new relationship with D&M Creative who will be rebuilding the website for us and continuing it’s development.

Our long standing supporters will know that there was a lot more content here until recently and we would welcome input from our many supporters regarding what they would like to see here. We cannot promise that every suggestion will be able to be accommodated but we do want to hear from you if you have ideas.

You will see that the dog and cat galleries are now quite depleted. These will be our first area to address.

We all hope that our regular visitors to this site have stayed with us through this quiet period.
