UPDATE – picture taken on 15 October 2018 – looking amazing!

The beginning – Monday 4 June 2018

We are very excited and thrilled to announce that the work has started on the brand new Dog Kennel blocks.  Planning permission was granted in January this year and so after months of careful planning and preparation we have braced ourselves for the highly anticipated building work to finally start.

There will be a new kennel block next to the Dog Hospital which will be ready at the end of the summer. This is the first phase of a bigger development project that we are hoping to achieve over the next 2 to 3 years. This architect’s drawing gives you a better insight into what we ultimately hope to aspire to.

These are exciting times for the Sanctuary’s future, but inevitably there will be some disruption on the site so please do bear with us!

We will bring you updates as we have news so watch this space!

We couldn’t resist taking the Day 1 photo shown above which kicked off in glorious sunshine as the machines arrive and the space is fenced off – it’s definitely happening!

This is only possible with your support and we couldn’t possibly do it without YOU – so a massive thank you to each and every one of you who has

made this happen. We never cease to be amazed by your kindness, generosity and mutual concern for the welfare of all our residents.

UPDATE (end June)

Work is coming along nicely folks! It may still look a bit like a building site, but that’s only because it IS! Still exciting though……

UPDATE August 2018 – the build is progressing well and now the roof is gradually taking shape!  Looking more and more like kennels!

UPDATE October 2018 – the new kennels are looking amazing!

You can really see what the finished product will be like now and work has already started on the inside too. We can’t wait! The work should be finished by the end of November and it would be fantastic if our President, Gemma Atkinson, could officially open them at our Open Day on Sunday 25 November. Fingers crossed!
