Shadow came to us after her owners felt she was too stressed in the home. She did then start to take this out on the other cats by fighting with them. For this reason we are looking for a quiet home with no other pets and older children if any (ages 8+). She is a confident girl who loves attention and a good cuddle. Shadow does have some fur missing due to over grooming but we are hoping in the right home where she get’s all of the attention she deserves, she will stop doing this. Once settled, Shadow would require outdoor access as she likes a potter in the garden.

Jane Doe was brought to us unannounced one afternoon as she had been hanging around an area in Ramsbottom as a stray for some time. She is extremely shy and takes some time to come round to new people. She isn’t really enjoying life at the sanctuary and is looking for a place to settle down and call home. In recent weeks, she has really started to open up and show her true colours. She has a beautiful nature and absolutely loves fuss once she is comfortable! The ideal home for her is one with teenage and older children and no other pets, so she can be treated like the true princess that she is and can take all the time she needs to come round to her new family! Once fully settled into her new forever home, Jane Doe will require access to the outdoors as this is what she is used to.

Dora was originally a stray before being taken in by a lovely family who got her checked out by a vet, she was eventually diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and the people had to make the devastating decision to give her up as the added cost that comes with the condition was too much for them to afford. She is a lovely girl who loves a fuss, but NOTHING will get in the way of her food! Hyperthyroidism is an extremely common condition that is easily controlled by medication that goes on her food twice daily (which she obviously has no issues eating!) She does require blood test every three months to ensure her thyroid levels have maintained and the hyperthyroidism stays controlled. She hasn’t shown any negative reactions towards the other cats since being here, however, we feel she would prefer it if she was the only pet in the home so she can be the centre of attention and treated like the princess that she truly is! We feel she will be fine with cat savvy children ages 5 years and older who will play and help her cause all the mischief she possibly can. Her condition means she will have to be kept as a house cat it is essential she is home to get her medication every morning and evening!

Gizmo and Minnie were brought into us as their owner passed away and there was no one to take them in. They are a sweet pair who love being around people. We have found that Minnie is the more confident of the pair but we are sure that with some time and patience, Gizmo will begin to show his true colours too! On arrival, we were told that the pair had been spending the majority of their time hiding upstairs away from the dogs, due to this we believe it is for the best that they live in a dog free home in the future, they will however be fine to live with a compatible feline friend. A family home with cat savvy children aged 8 years and older and plenty of fuss on hand is just what Giz and Minnie need! Once fully settled into their new home, we believe the pair should have the option to have outdoor access.

Apply online to adopt Wednesday & Fleur Foster Home Needed

Wednesday and Fleur are a beautiful and loving pair, looking for an indoor only foster home. They have feline corona virus, which is a common viral infection in cats, unable to infect humans but contagious to other cats . It generally causes asymptomatic infection, but can cause diarrhoea. This virus is something they naturally fight off on there own, this can take anywhere from a few days to months. Wednesday and fleur have been at Bleakholt since September 2023, and we a looking for a long term, loving foster home for them until they recover from the virus.
Wednesday is a relaxed princess, often sleeping the day away but is soon wide awake when she knows some loving is on offer, Fleur will soon be purring once she’s having her head stroked. They both like to be picked up for a cuddle, and are just a beautiful duo. They were both described as cuddly and lap cats in their previous home. They have been around children in the past but as we feel they would like the quiet life, a home with children aged 8 years plus.

Isabella is a lovey lady who came into us pregnant as her owner had allergies. She is a confident and friendly cat and would be best suited as an only pet so all of the spotlight is on her. She is extremely affectionate and will come up to you for a fuss and give you plenty of loving headbutts! She does have a flea bite allergy which is easily managed by monthly flea treatments using advantage. We think any children over the age of seven would be okay for Isabella and once settled, she would like outdoor access.

There are a few situations that could cause us to decline the offer of a new home for one of our cats or kittens, which are:

*We do not rehome kittens to homes where they will be left alone for long periods.
*We do not rehome cats to homes that are on or near a busy road or railway line
*The cat is not going to be suitable for your home

We will contact you through email if you are suitable with the next steps of the process. We get a high number of requests so please do not ring to chase this up as we prioritise the phone lines for emergencies.

Please let us know genders you are interested in and if you want a single kitten or a pair. We do not rehome kittens based on colour.
